A small team of us at work are working on a project to power a car from an oxygen/hydrogen mixture derived from an electrolysis reactor using a duty free fuel called water.
I completed the electronics part of the project tonight and being a curious soul decided to lash together two small stainless steel plates with a gap of half a millimetre between them.........
Placed in a beaker of water I switched the power on and slowly ramped up the frequency.........
At around 40 KHz the plates had a good bit of fizz around them which continued up to around 300 KHz then the fizz started to drop off.
I determined that the optimal frequency for best fizz from the two plates was 170 KHz and at that stage turned the oscillator off.
I blew away the gas mix from the beaker and held my cigarette lighter near the top of the plates, lit it and turned the power on............
A very loud snap, crackle and pop ensued so there is definite hope in this duty free emerging technology.
The main reactor vessel is near completion and it now looks like we will be in a position to fit this to an old Ford Escort this Easter weekend.
Personally I am thinking now of home heating systems and large scale power stations since the oil companies are not prepared to release this technology until the oil runs out long after we have killed off the planet.
(They bought the patent up around 38 years ago)
I will keep you posted.

Well there is not much happening on this project.
There is definitely potential here but as yet the motor
is yet to run, it certainly tries as there is evidence of
the occasional firing of a cylinder or two but nothing
that is going to deny the government of some tax.
It does scare me a bit when you have a stainless
steel pressure vessel running at 60 psi of
hydrogen/oxygen mixture!
Pity we can not separate the two out and recombine
the two gases within the engine as I would consider
that to be a safer option.

No improvement on the running of this.
I have called this Chitty, Chitty, Boinc, Boinc and the rest of
the crew are running with the name too.............
Just the engine that is not running with it.
I now feel that this would be better as an enhancement to an
established production car and try cutting fuel consumption
by introducing hydroxy to the air intake of the carburettor.
A 15 to 20% reduction in fuel consumption is better than zero.

We did give up.......
I did have some doubts about the plastic gas generator charged up to 60psi and it did fail when I was not there !
We no longer have the Escort or the gear that made up the generator but at least we tried......... _________________ Try the best |
